(Article 2026) Kenji Igawa is a Professor at the Faculty of Letters, Arts and Sciences at Waseda University in Japan, specializing in pre-modern Japanese history and multilingual foreign relations. He conducts multilingual studies of 15th- and 16th-century Japanese foreign relations, with a special emphasis on the Tenshō Embassy (the Japanese envoy to Europe) and maritime trade routes in the China Sea.
